Browserbase vs Browserless pricing
For 100 browser hours a month, 3,000 sessions of 2 minutes, Browserbase costs $20 (Developer) and Browserless $35 (Prototyping). Browserbase sells browser hours, with each hour past a plan at $0.12 (Developer) and $0.10 (Startup); Browserless sells 30-second units, 120 to the hour, so an hour past its plans costs $0.24 (Prototyping), $0.204 (Starter) and $0.18 (Scale). For 2-minute sessions Browserbase is cheaper at every volume in the table below, 10 to 5,000 hours a month.
3,000 sessions of 2 minutes are 100 browser hours a month. Cheapest: Browserbase at $20 ($0.20 an hour). Most expensive: Browserless at $35.
Each one's cheapest published monthly plan for that much browser time, before tax and proxy traffic. A plan whose longest session is shorter than yours isn't used.

How do the plans compare?
| Plan | A month | Browser hours | Each extra hour | Concurrent browsers | Longest session |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Browserbase Free | $0 | 1 | – | 3 | 15 min |
| Developer | $20 | 100 | $0.12 | 25 | 6 h |
| Startup | $99 | 500 | $0.10 | 100 | 6 h |
| Browserless Free | $0 | 8.3 1,000 units | – | 2 | 2 min |
| Prototyping | $35 | 166.7 20,000 units | $0.24 | 5 | 15 min |
| Starter | $200 | 1,500 180,000 units | $0.204 | 30 | 30 min |
| Scale | $500 | 4,166.7 500,000 units | $0.18 | 80 | 1 h |
"–" means the plan stops at its allowance: Browserless' Free plan rejects requests past its units, and Browserbase's Free plan has no overage.
How do they bill browser time?
- Browserbase: "Browser time is billed by the minute and proxy bandwidth by the MB, rounded, with a one-minute and one-MB minimum per session."
- Browserless: "A “Unit” is a block of browser time of up to 30 seconds per browser connection. Longer-running automations use an extra Unit for every 30 seconds."
So a 20-second page load counts as one unit on Browserless and as a full minute on Browserbase: Browserless meters half the time. Whether that makes it cheaper depends on the plans. Sessions of 20 seconds: 10,000 a month cost $28 on Browserbase (Developer) and $35 on Browserless (Prototyping); 100,000 a month cost $208 on Browserbase (Developer) and $195 on Browserless (Prototyping).
What do proxies and CAPTCHAs add?
- Proxies on Browserbase: Developer: 1 GB included, then $12 per GB; Startup: 5 GB included, then $10 per GB. No proxies on Free.
- Proxies on Browserless: 6 units per MB of residential proxy traffic, from the plan's units: $9 to $12 per GB at overage rates. Datacenter proxy traffic uses fewer: "2 Units per MB for Datacenter Proxy".
- CAPTCHAs: Browserbase solves them automatically on its Developer and Startup plans; Browserless uses 10 units per successful solve, $0.02 each at its Prototyping overage rate. Compare dedicated solvers in CAPTCHA solver pricing.
